Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Estrella (“Estrella”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use our soul-map service on WhatsApp and the website estrelamap.online (together, the “Service”). Gal Rubinstein, who runs Estrella, is responsible for (the controller of) this information. Questions and requests: hello@estrelamap.online or WhatsApp +972 54-886-4785.
1. What we collect
- Contact details: your WhatsApp phone number and profile name; your email address if you give it in the questionnaire, to us or to our payment provider, and whether you agreed to receive further emails.
- Details for a map: full name, gender (for the form of address), mother's first name, birth date, birth time and birthplace, sent on WhatsApp or entered in the website questionnaire. If you order a map for someone else, the same details about that person.
- Conversations: the messages you send us and our replies, including questions you ask.
- Voice notes: if you send a voice note, it is turned into text so we can answer you (by Converto's transcript or OpenAI's speech-to-text service). We keep the text as part of the conversation; we do not store the recording.
- Orders: what you ordered, the amount, the date, whether you opened the payment link, and the order status. Payment card details are handled only by Lemon Squeezy; we never receive them.
- Website data: pages visited, the questionnaire, your IP address, browser and device type, a random identifier we give your browser, Meta's cookies (_fbp, _fbc), the ad you came from (for example a click id), and your choices in the accessibility menu and the consent banner (stored in your browser).
- Ad attribution: when you reach us from a Meta (Facebook or Instagram) ad that opens WhatsApp, Meta provides an ad click identifier and the ad you came from.
Outside matchmaking, we do not ask for special categories of data (such as health, religion, sex life or sexual orientation, or political opinions). Please do not send them to us. In matchmaking only (section 10), the gender you are looking for may reveal your sexual orientation, and you may choose to tell us your religion; we use these only to find matches for you, and only with your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18, except details a parent or guardian provides to create a map for their own child.
2. How we use it, and why
- To provide the Service (performance of our agreement with you): to calculate and write your maps, answer you, deliver your maps and handle orders, refunds and support.
- To improve the Service (our legitimate interest): to fix errors, understand where people get stuck and make the conversation and maps better.
- To measure our advertising (your consent where the law requires it, otherwise our legitimate interest): to tell Meta that a visit, a questionnaire, a WhatsApp chat or a purchase came from an ad, so that the ads can be measured and shown to people more likely to be interested.
- To send you messages: on WhatsApp about your order and a limited number of follow-ups, and by email: the first reading you asked for on the website, and more emails only if you agreed (every email has an unsubscribe link).
- To meet legal obligations and protect our rights: accounting, tax, fraud prevention and handling disputes.
- Matchmaking (your explicit consent): to look for people whose maps fit yours and to introduce you, as described in section 10.

Automated processing and AI. Your maps and many of our messages are prepared automatically, using astronomical calculations and artificial-intelligence language models that receive the details needed to write them. This processing does not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. The texts, images, videos and characters on the Site and in our ads are also created with AI; characters shown in them are not real people.
3. Meta Pixel and Conversions API
The website uses the Meta Pixel, and our servers use Meta's Conversions API, for ad measurement. For each event (page view, viewing the offer, completing the questionnaire, opening WhatsApp, and a later purchase) Meta may receive: the event and page, the time, your IP address and browser, Meta's cookies, a random identifier for your browser in hashed (one-way scrambled) form and, for purchases, your phone number or email in hashed form and the order value. For chats that began from an ad, purchases are reported to Meta through WhatsApp's business-messaging measurement in the same way. We never send Meta your birth details, your mother's name or your map. Meta processes this information under its own privacy policy, including to show you ads. Visitors from Canada are asked first, and nothing is sent to Meta unless they accept. You can also block cookies in your browser and adjust your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for others' own marketing. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it:
- Meta (WhatsApp messaging, and ad measurement as described above) and Converto (our WhatsApp business platform);
- Vercel (website and server hosting) and Supabase (database and file storage);
- AI providers such as OpenAI and Anthropic (writing the maps and replies, and turning voice notes into text);
- Lemon Squeezy (payments, as merchant of record) and Resend (email delivery);
- Open-Meteo (finding a birthplace's coordinates and time zone; it receives only the place name you typed).
We may also disclose information if required by law or a valid legal request, to protect the rights and safety of Estrella or others, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business (in which case this policy continues to apply).
5. International transfers
Our providers may process information in the United States, the European Union and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or the provider's own transfer mechanisms.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your details, conversations and maps while you use the Service and for as long as needed to resend your maps, provide support and meet legal obligations (order and accounting records may be kept for up to 7 years). Questionnaires that are never continued on WhatsApp are deleted or anonymized within 90 days. Anonymous website measurement records are deleted after 12 months. Voice-note recordings are not stored. Matchmaking details, your photo and your chat messages are kept while you are in the pool; when you leave, you stop being suggested to anyone, and if you ask us to delete them we do so within 30 days. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, access controls and private storage for maps. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, the EU and UK GDPR, Canada's PIPEDA and US state privacy laws), you may have the right to: access the information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; object to or restrict certain uses; receive a copy in a portable form; withdraw consent at any time (without affecting earlier processing); and opt out of the use of your information for targeted advertising. We do not “sell” personal information as traditionally understood; where sharing with Meta for ad measurement may be considered “sharing” or “targeted advertising”, you can opt out by writing to us. To use any of these rights, write to us by email or on WhatsApp (to delete your information you can simply write “delete my data” in the WhatsApp chat); we may need to verify your identity and will reply within the time the law requires (usually 30 days). You may also complain to your local data-protection authority (in Israel, the Privacy Protection Authority).
9. Information about other people
If you give us details about someone else to create a map for them, please make sure they know and agree, or that you are their parent or guardian. They have the same rights described above.
10. Matchmaking (optional)
Adults aged 18 or over may choose to join our matchmaking pool. We add you only after you say yes (or when you ask us to); by saying yes you confirm that you are 18 or over and give your explicit consent to the use of your matchmaking details, including the gender you are looking for and, if you choose to tell us, your religion. In the pool we keep the soul map you already made with us and what you tell us for matchmaking: your marital status, the gender and age range you are looking for, the region, and anything you choose to add. Our matchmaker uses this, together with an automated compatibility score calculated from both maps, to look for people whose maps fit yours.
In your personal space on the site you may add a photo. It is kept in private storage and shown only to someone who also said yes to you, through a link that expires within an hour. After a mutual yes you can write to each other there. Our matchmaker does not read your messages unless one of you reports the conversation; either of you can block it, which closes it for both. Your phone numbers are shared with each other only if both of you choose to move to WhatsApp.
Your details are seen only by our matchmaker. We never share anything about you with another person in the pool without asking you first and getting your yes; when both sides agree, we share only what is needed to introduce you. You can leave the pool at any time by writing “leave matchmaking” on WhatsApp or by writing to us; you then stop being suggested to anyone, and you can ask us to delete your matchmaking details as described in section 8. Matchmaking is free, and a compatibility score is not a promise or a guarantee of anything.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; for significant changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
